We have added patch management to Origo OS

We have added patch management to Origo OS. This means you now have a convenient way to keep your virtual servers software patched and updated, without having to install third-party patch management software.

To allow Origo OS to patch and update the software on your servers, they must be integrated with Origo OS. Initially we have integrated our base Ubuntu stack and the Kubernetes stack, which depends on this. Going forward we will update all base stacks with patch management support.

Below is a slide show which shows how to use the base features of patch management in Origo OS when installing a Kubernetes cluster

Patch management is done from the "sofware" tab. You can manually update servers, and you can specify if and how often you want security patches or software updates to be automatically installed.
Patch management has been added to the Kubernetes stack. A new monitor type is available, to actively monitor patch level status of servers. This will trigger a down alert whenever a server has security patches available that have not been installed.
Initially the monitors will be "down" because there are security patches available, that have not been installed.
You can click on a monitor to see specifics about available software updates.
Patch management has also been added to the Public Cloud Toolkit. This means that you get a complete overview over your services from one overview page, including up/down status, backup status and patch level status.
